I haven’t had time to focus on photo contests that much, but after Lorena’s wedding, there was one shot that I just absolutely loved and thought it might do well. So, I entered it in David Beckstead’s bi-monthly photo contest and it ended up winning First Place! David is an amazing, internationally renowned wedding photographer so I was deeply humbled that he recognized my photo.

Green Mountain Ranch provided the perfect backdrop for Lorena and Josh’s wedding. When I saw the bridemaids’ dresses, I knew it was going to be fun and memorable wedding. Of course, there were the typical little stresses, but everyone pulled through in the end. The whole day was especially meaningful because Lorena’s dad had passed away last year. It was very moving to see Lorena with her mom and how she welcomed Josh into the family.

While the wedding party waited for the limo to arrive, I wanted to capture some more dramatic night photography with Lorena and Josh.
Lorena and Josh were married under the picturesque mountains at Green Mountain Ranch in Lytle Creek over the weekend. Here are a couple of sneak previews from their absolutely beautiful wedding. More to come soon.

We hadn’t planned on doing this shot, but with practically no light left, my 2nd photographer, Loren of Loren Scott Photography, quickly set up his alien bee light with an umbrella raised up about 20 feet. ISO was cranked up to 3200 on my Canon 5D and we got lucky.
