Los Angeles Engagement Photography: Amanda + Joseph | Griffith Park Observatory

It feels like a lifetime ago, but my first career was in the film industry.  I worked in production and development for several years and eventually realized I didn’t have the patience to stick with it.  That’s why I admire writers like Amanda and Joseph who have the talent and tenacity to make it their living.

When I first met Amanda and Joseph late last year to talk about their wedding, I immediately noticed how fun and playful they were with each other.  It’s the kind of chemistry that you just love to be around.

A couple of months later, I met up with them on a very cloudy and sporadically rainy day at the Griffith Park Observatory for their engagement session.  They were great to photograph because they were so at ease with each other and that definitely comes through in the photos.  Their wedding in just a couple of short months is going to be great.  Here are my favorites from their engagement session…

Los Angeles Engagement Photography: Amanda + Joseph | Griffith Park & Observatory | Sneak Peak

Storm clouds moved in on Friday and I didn’t know if there would be enough of a break to photograph Amanda and Joseph’s engagement session.  But we rolled the dice and went for it.  I’m so glad that we did because the photos turned out beautifully.

We started at the Griffith Park Observatory and ended up near the original Bat Cave from the TV series.  Here’s a sneak preview.

Newport Beach Engagement Photography: Tania + Ryan | Balboa Island

When I first met with Tania and Ryan several months ago to talk about the possibility of photographing their wedding, they surprised me and said that they had already decided to hire me.  As an artist, it meant so much that my images spoke to them and that they were confident I would create images for them that they would love as well.  Last week, they came down to Newport Beach for a little vacation and decided it would be a great opportunity for their engagement portraits.  I love being able to photograph my brides and grooms before their wedding day so that they would get comfortable with me and the camera.  We had a great time walking around Balboa Island around sunset.  The clouds, the light, the Christmas decorations – everything was just perfect for their session.  I can’t wait for their wedding at the Grand Island Mansion next year.

Ryan certainly didn’t mind cleaning the dirt off of Tania’s dress.
