When it comes to photographing kids, patience is the number quality a photographer must possess. My sister has 6 kids and doing a family portrait of the entire family at sunset required that in spades. Here’s the one that turned out nicely.

When I was in film school, one of the first things we were told was never to work with children and animals. As father of two adorable kids, I got plenty of practice. As a professional photographer, I started out doing family portraits, but never got the opportunity to photograph pets. Well, my friend called me up and asked if I wanted to shoot portraits of his sister’s dog, Pinkerton. I love trying something different but approached it like I would with children – with plenty of patience.
Here are a few of my favorites.

Kevin,
Being an animal lover I have to say I love these shots! What a great subject and photographer!
My son is only 2 1/2, but ever since he could pick up a toy guitar, he’s gravitated towards that instrument over the piano or any other instrument we have lying around.
I photographed these one morning before church. The light was just perfect coming through our front door.
