Welcome to the first edition of my Monday Musings. This is a work in progress because I haven’t decided exactly what I want this ultimately to be. So, for the time being, these posts will be a place for me to just write about anything and everything that is happening in my life or in my head.
SEO
Well, this has been consuming my attention a lot lately. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and while it seems like it should be as simple as do this and do that, it feels more like an art form. It’s probably because all of the search engines out there have their own unique algorithm to determine relevant listings for searches. How a site gets a page one rank is gold to most businesses because so many people use “search” to find goods and services these days. I’ve been learning from doing my own searches on the web and from talking to others who have successfully leveraged the power of SEO. Time will tell if the changes I’ve been making will pay off.
THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE
Last Saturday, my lovely wife and I went out on a date without the kids. It’s been awhile because of one thing or another, but it was much needed. We had dinner at Papa Lennon’s, a fantastic Italian restaurant in Ojai. Afterwards, we went to see The Time Traveler’s Wife at the Ojai Playhouse. I left my critical brain at the door and just went with it, and it was entertaining for what it was. I didn’t cry like my wife did because it just didn’t all come together for me. I just didn’t feel the emotional urgency, the dramatic tension to keep me invested.
THE PHIL HENDRIE SHOW
I haven’t listened to the Phil Hendrie Show on the radio for years, but recently rediscovered him through his podcasts on iTunes. His comedy is so unique and hilarious. I was turned onto him by my good friend, Thad, right after USC Film School. We were both working for Fox Family and we needed the laughs Phil Hendrie provided. He went off the air a few years ago but now he’s back.
SNOW LEOPARD FOR THE MAC
Got the disk on Friday and updated my MacBook Pro seamlessly in just an hour. No big changes cosmetically, but it feels faster over all, and it freed up 7GB of space. Very nice upgrade!

The Ojai Meadow Preserve in full bloom.

On our way up I-5 to San Francisco.

Also on the I-5 North. I love the colors of nature against our man-made towers.
