A little break from the recent wedding and engagement posts. I shot this on the way back from a recent wedding up in northern California. After getting gas, my assistant and I saw the sun fall behinds the clouds and I knew I needed to capture it. I envisioned doing HDR, but in the end, this was processed from a single RAW file in Lightroom and Photoshop.

I drive by Black Mountain Ranch in Upper Ojai whenever I drive down to Los Angeles and I always see these two beautiful trees. Well, recently, the light was perfect and the image just spoke out to me like never before. So, I had to stop and take a few pictures. These trees are like a married couple, together side by side in this journey through life.
I got the opportunity to play with the Canon 14mm f2.8L lens for a few days and decided to take it to The Grove in Los Angeles while waiting for my friends for dinner. This is one cool lens – extreme wide without the typical fish-eye effect. I would love to have this lens in my gear bag but I would probably only take it out once in a blue moon during a wedding or portrait session.
This one below was taken with my walkaround 24-105mm f4.0L. I love the high ISO of my 5D Mark II.
