Today was Grace’s first day of Kindergarten and it amazes us how much our little has grown up in such a short time. So for the next 13 years (plus 3 because Rylan just turned 2), our life will revolve around the school year.

Chrissie Scalise contacted me when her husband’s family were planning to come down from northern California to visit. It was a rare opportunity for all of them to be together for a photography portrait session and she wanted to take advantage of it. I met them at their lovely house Saturday morning. The sunlight was already strong and bright, but they have some beautiful trees and shading in their backyard that gave us lots of room to get some beautiful moments between them. The boys were absolutely cute – shy at first, but it didn’t take them long to mug for the camera. It was so much fun to photograph Chrissie and her family because they were up for anything. Here are some of my favorites.
Each summer, every Wednesday for 6 weeks, the Ojai Band performs an evening of music in Libbey Park free of charge for everyone to enjoy. It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring the family out, buy balloons and old fashioned popcorn for the kids. Half-way through the performance, all of the kids get to go on a balloon parade around the park.
