I’ve been shooting more destination weddings lately so when Your Wedding Day Magazine called me up to see if I could cover Deb and Chris’ wedding in Ojai, I jumped at the chance to shoot a wedding in my own backyard.
Deb and Chris are the co-artistic directors of Theater 150 and one thing after another somehow got in the way of them getting married over the years. When they decided to get married this year, the idea of turning their wedding into a fundraising event for Theater 150 made perfect sense. So, instead of having a traditional ceremony, they wrote a play about their journey to their “I Do’s” and were officially married on stage at Libbey Bowl.
The challenge for me was to cover their wedding day without any pre-planning and therefore, just approach it like a pure photojournalist. Still, at the reception, I got to take them both aside for a few creative portraits. Here are my favorites from their beautiful day! Congrats, Deb and Chris!
