After editing Frances & Michael’s wedding photos, I wanted to post a typical example of how a digital negative can be enhanced for an album or print. We all see light and colors differently and each photographer brings his or her own artistic vision to an image – both from the moment of capturing it and in post manipulating the digital negative. That is why it so important in choosing a photographer for your wedding or portraits that you love his or her artistic vision and execution.
The first image is almost straight out of the camera. In Lightroom, I color corrected, added a little depth to the tone curve and applied a subtle vignette. This was photographed near sunset as you can see in the reflection in the building’s windows. The light was warm and soft but the image is kinda of flat. The long lens helps to create separation from the background, but still, the couple simply don’t pop out.
Here’s the final image, fully processed using Viveza and Color Efex Pro in Photoshop.
